Your Questions About Espresso Machines

Paul asks…
Can espresso machines make Starbucks style drinks like a Caffe Mocha? Is it comparable?
admin answers:
If your machine can steam milk, and the shots are calibrated (shots should pull 17-19 seconds) then yes, you can make a comparable drink.
If you want to try and make it identical-- you can purchase Espresso (beans, ground, or in pods) from Starbucks. You can also purchase their syrups for other drinks, or the Mocha powder for Mochas.
When making a drink, for best quality you want to do syrup first, espresso next (being sure not to let the shot sit for more than 10 seconds) and steamed milk last (around 170 degrees.)

can i use Vietnamese butter roasted coffee in an espresso machine?
I have a new Delonghi coffee machine and I also have some vietnamese coffee which has a delicious hazelnut taste. I used to mix it with Italian coffee grounds and use it in my old espresso machine.
I guess I am concerned because the Vietnamese coffee I have is butter roasted. Don't want to gum anything up.
Thanks for answering.

Is there an espresso machine that is easy to service?
No matter how well-built an espresso machine, it is going to need gaskets replaced sooner or later. Every machine I've ever owned was so difficult to take apart and replace the gaskets than I end up damaging it.
Can anyone recommend one that they've repaired without much trouble?
